My arrival in England
You all better read!

Well Thursday sept. 7th, my hero Emily took me to waterloo to do a few 'oops I forgot' stuff. She got me to the airport at 4:15pm, 15 minutes before I had to be there. Walked into the terminal the line up was all through the roped section, then down 2/3rds of the terminal then looped back around about 10 people. Only took me 1 hour to get through atleast with a suitcase only 4kg over. I'm proud of myself I must say.
So I had my plane ride which was not pleasant cause well, planes suck! Uneventful trip really, got through customs no problem, apprently they think I'm okay to get into another country. Met Claire outside the gates and we got trains no problem to sheffield then a taxi up and up and up to my house, well hole in the wall and that's explaining the whole house! This house is tiny tiny tiny then even smaller. See pictures for further proof of it's tininess! It is however in this beautiful old fashion english part of town with the main street full of little shops, the butcher and bakery (and candle stick maker) the chippie(fish and chip shop) and I've found 3 pubs quite close to me so far! I'm quite content with the housing I must say!
Spent the weekend getting settled, unloading my suitcase (which I swear is larger then my room) into my room, finding my way around town and fulfilling my english traditions I missed. Had my first night out with Claire on saturday night and we made our own little pub crawl, made it through 6 bars in the night which was enjoyable.
Job started monday morning and it looks like it might be a bit better then last term! The prof is super nice and relaxed, the people in the office, the other PhD students are fun and social and the work looks promising. Haven't done much yet, still getting settled and learning things (hence why I'm writing this!)
